Description |
Whole plate tintype depicting men posing in front of a drug store. Painted on the brick is "Drugs / Paints / Oils & / Glass." A typed note with the photograph reads: "South Side Square, about 1880 / George Buskrik [sic Burkirk], Tobe Smith, Joseph Smith (father of Mrs. Chester Tourner who presented this tintype to the World-Telephone) and Greeves, father and son." The original tintype is laterally reversed, as was standard for the tintype process. Also included in this catalog record is a digitally flipped image for easier readability. |
