Description |
A long line fills the sidewalk in front of the Lyric Theatre. This view looks north on Illinois Street. The marquee and other signs promote the live WLW Boone County Jamboree (a Cincinnati radio show with Lulubelle, Scotty, and others) and the movie Zanzibar, released in March 1940. The Indianapolis Times reported that this show opened at the Lyric on April 18, 1940. Signs for nearby businesses include Wohlmuth Tailors, Sam's Men's Shop, Windsor Jewelry Company, Lyric Flower Shop, Roy Logan, Hodgins-Carter Company, and Palm Garden Lunch. |
