Description |
Men playing a guitar and banjo on the lawn of the Bluffton Water Works, a one story brick building with a tower. The writing at the bottom of the photograph reads "Nathan Linn Right / Lew [Lewis L.] DeHaven Left 1886." According to the Directory of Wells County and City of Bluffton, Indiana, 1908, Leroy was a musican and his father (Walter B. DeHaven) served as superintendent of the Bluffton Water Works. Sanborn Fire Insurance Company maps show this building near the southeast corner of Liberty and East Washington Streets. As of 2018 it is the site of the Bluffton Electric Department. |
