Copy photograph of a lithograph copyrighted in 1871 by Crider & Brother of York, Pennsylvania. Titled "Our Family," the document has spaces for eight family members surrounding an illustration of a family. At the top are parents Edward Millis (born February 1831) and Matilda Griffin (born July 1836), who were married in March 1855. The remaining spaces show their children: Emma E. Millis (1858-1861), Frank Millis (b. 1860), Marion Millis (b. 1862), and Lois Millis (b. 1864, later Mains). Each name is accompanied by a portrait. The bottom two portraits of women are unidentified. The family lived in Springfield and LaGrange, Indiana. |
