Title Postcard of West Baden Catholic Cathedral, West Baden, Indiana, ca. 1912
Description Postmarked 1912. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church was constructed in 1902 and 1903 on a hill west of the West Baden Springs Hotel. Hotel proprietor Lee W. Sinclair built the brick and stone structure on hotel grounds for Catholic guests. Structural problems caused by the hill's erosion and moisture damage resulted in its demolition in 1934. Salvaged bricks and many of the windows were reused in 1936 to construct the St. Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana.
