Description |
William H. Roberson (1883-1935) is pictured here with his wife Elizabeth (nee Cockerham, 1881-1973) and daughter Zola. The address "1612" above the door helped determine that this was his restaurant and home at 1612-1614 N. 2nd Street in Vincennes. The business was short-lived and within a couple of years became Roberson's wallpaper store. This building no longer stands, and the site is now [2021] part of the lawn of Vincennes University's Hospitality House. Postmarked August 16, 1909, mailed from W. H. and L. Robinson in Vincennes to Birdseye, Indiana. |
