View looking north along South Clark Road (State Road 3) at houses and churches in Markle. Visible is a gravel pit in the foreground (probably owned by Markle Stone and Lime company), house at 220 South Clark Road (two-story white house on the left with returned eaves), the Baptist Church (white building on the right before bridge), an iron bridge over the Wabash River, and the Markle Methodist Church (145 West Morse Street, brick church toward the left). To the right beyond the bridge are commercial buildings along Morse Street. Type within the negative reads "Birds Eye View of Markle Ind. / Copyright -10. I. J. B." |
