Photo showing a group of men at work near the Ohio River during the construction of the Markland Dam. Handwritten notes on the front of this picture read "Pump boat / Hoisting crane / Pile driver / Note the cars on top of Coffer Dam / the only cars in our county." Postmarked October 1, 1914.
The donor's great-great-grandfather, Christian Henry Brameier, owned a large farm in the area where the dam was built. He sold part of his land to build the dam.
