Captioned "Close-up of the 'Sister Ship'." Other snapshots in the series reveal that this is a parade for Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan. The "Indianapolis Star" states that he was in an Indianapolis parade on August 19, 1938 as part of his goodwill tour through the country. The sister ship was a Curtiss airplane similar to Corrigan's owned by Helen House of Rochester. From a photo album compiled between 1935 and 1938 by Lee Wayne Dickey (1919-2003). |
