The photo is inscribed "To Mr. and Mrs. George P. Meier, very sincerely yours, Louis Ludlow, Nov. 29, 1929." The image is from the collection of autographed photos owned by Nellie Simmons Meier, many of which were given to her after she told their fortune by reading their palms. Louis Ludlow (1873-1950) was a newspaper reporter, political writer, and Democratic Indiana congressman who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1929 until 1949. He was born in Fayette County, Indiana and moved to Indianapolis to write for Indianapolis newspapers. |
