Description |
Postcard titled "'Looking South on Morgan Street', (M. E. Church on left), Broad Ripple, Indiana." According to "One Hundred Fifty Years in Broad Ripple: Celebrating Methodism’s Outpost for preaching the gospel in Broad Ripple" (by Donald E. Mattson, Indianapolis, Indiana: Printing Partners, 2002), this church was constructed in 1886 and dedicated in June 1887. It was located on the southeast corner of Morgan Street (now Guilford Avenue) and Coil Street (now East 62nd Street). This view looks southeast at the church. The hitching rail was north of the church along Coil Street. An identical postcard is postmarked 1913. |
