Copy photograph of five older men, likely copied from a tintype, ambrotype, or daguerreotype. Photographs of the men posted on family trees on ancestry.com identify them as the sons of Isaac and Eunice (Macy) Gardner, a Quaker family that moved from Guilford County, North Carolina to Union County, Indiana. The original photograph predates the death of Paul Gardner on May 3, 1862. They are, left to right: 1. Thomas Gardner (1783-1867) 2. David Gardner (1789-1871) 3. Aaron Gardner (1792-1887) 4. Isaac Gardner (1787-1871) 5. Paul Gardner (1781-1862) Their younger sister Eunice (Gardner) Swain was the mother of album owner Theron Swain. |
