Description |
Uniformed Spanish-American War soldiers, including one with dwarfism, pose with a guitar and mandolin at Camp Mount. The camp, named after Indiana Governor James A. Mount, was located on the Indiana State Fairgrounds at 38th Street. Many trainees lived in barns, but moved to tents east of the racetrack so the State Fair could begin in July 1898. This image was stored in a sleeve captioned "Bert Malone's 'squad' Battery C Camp Mount 1899." |
