Description |
The title mistakenly states that the jail was built in 1837. This two-story log structure was built in 1879 and replaced the earlier jail. Postcard from Edmund "Ed" Krock (1909-1989) to his mother Catherine (Buchtman) Krock (1872-1944) who lived at 632 Hendricks Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Written on back, "Dear Mother, June is swell country down here we arrived here at 11:30 Sat. morning. It is about 96 degrees here today. Take care of yourself. Will write more later. Love Ed. Give regards to all." |
