Daniel B. Crawford home, Richmond, Indiana, circa 1860 |
Catalog Number |

Description |
A man wearing top hat poses at the door of a house with a picket fence, while two women stand on a balcony above the entrance. Written on the back: "(First) Home of Daniel B. Crawford from 1850 to 1861 on Main St., No. 818. Bet 8 & 9." This is a circa 1860s copy photograph of an older image. Dry goods merchant Daniel Bosley Crawford (1807-1898) and his wife Agnes Corrie (1808-1887) lived in this home between 1850 and 1861. In 1881 Richmond's street names changed and we believe that the house stood on current day East Main Street between 11th and 12th Streets, the site of the Palladium-Item parking lot. |
