This 1930s snapshot looks southwest at Vincennes with the Wabash River to the right. In the center is the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral (also known as the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier, or simply "The Old Cathedral"). The George Rogers Clark Memorial (the round building to the right) was dedicated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on June 14, 1936. Today the site is part of the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park.

Family members believe that one of the men is probably Eugene Poinsette (1889-1925). According to the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette, May 7, 1916, page 3A, chapter 200 formed in January 1910.

Moochers' Club House, Fort Wayne, Indiana, circa 1905 - ia-0009-0007
The Moochers' Club House stood on the banks of the St. Joseph River north of Robison Park. According to local newspapers, the Moochers' Club bought the land in 1900 and built the cottage in the spring. The club was used for family reunions and as a hunting retreat. Henry Lawrence Hoffman, 3rd from left in front row, is the only person identified in this circa 1905 photograph. Club members offered the cottage for sale in 1914.
