On the back is written "Down Homers." The Downhomers (also known as the Down-Homers or Down Homers) were a cowboy musical group who had a daily show on WOWO radio in Fort Wayne in the mid-1940s. They also performed on the Hoosier Hop Barn Dance on NBC Radio. The man front left is Everett "Shorty" Cook (1914-2002).

Studio portrait of identified on back as "Elizabeth H. Mason / Mar. 29 - 1908." The young woman wears a pigeon breast blouse or dress and has a large bow in her pulled-back hair. Elizabeth (Mason) Reed (1891-1965) was the daughter of Alice (Duncan) (1853-1927) and Samuel Coale Mason (1842-1929) of Huntington County. She married Lloyd Reed in 1909 and the couple later moved to Fort Wayne.

Written on back: "In front center: Sam Roberts, man over his right right shoulder- Del Boston (Barber), Flora Ella Star Roberts is the 4th from the left in the 3rd row." Flora Ella (Starr) Fett (1881-1967) of Fort Wayne married her first husband Samuel Roberts (1875-1924) in 1897, who worked as a janitor. They were married until his death and had one child together, Carl W. Roberts (1897-1967).

Some of the houses in the addition in the distance are under construction and a developer's sign is in front. The name on the sign begins with an S. Visible houses identified via maps include 8 Saint Joseph Manor. According to the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette, 28 Apr. 1918, p. 7A, the Saint Joseph Manor was a high-end, restricted sub-division on the Saint Joseph River. Construction began in 1918.

Five military officers holding pistols, Indianapolis, Indiana, 1898 - ia-0005-0022
These Spanish-American War soldiers pose at Camp Mount in 1898. The camp, named after Indiana Governor James A. Mount, was located on the Indiana State Fairgrounds at 38th Street. Many trainees lived in barns, but moved to tents east of the racetrack so the State Fair could begin in July, 1898. Note the iron bridge, presumably over Fall Creek, to the left. Names on a sign indicate that this is the 28th Light Artillery from Fort Wayne.
